Meet my elephant

An elephant is a big project, goal or dream that might be overwhelming you.

My elephant: recipe updates to every single recipe on the $5 Dinners website. That was about 2500 recipes my friend! A giant elephant.

But guess what? My team and I are taking it one bite, and one recipe at a time! We have a plan and we are going to accomplish this huge task!


Eating an elephant doesn't sound so delicious...
But it sure will be delicious when you reach your goal!

It's pretty easy to look back and see that you've accomplished a long list of things over a big period of time.

What's challenging is seeing the day-to-day accomplishments. It's hard to see it when you're in the moment.

Great words from the wall at my gym: "A dream is a goal with a deadline."

Goals need to be S-M-A-R-T:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Realistic
  • Timely

Writing things down and keeping track of the bites you are taking is super important!

Have a dream. Make a plan. Set some deadlines. Start taking bites.

Think about the different goals and dreams you have for your life, and why you haven't done anything with them. Flip it into a positive that you CAN make it happen. Stop that inner monologue that's telling you it will just never happen.
