Moving Your Body with Intention

No, I’m not going to ask you to run. Unless you want to, or love to, or think you should try it.

In this 1st episode of a 2 part “Intentional Body” series, we’re going to chat about moving your body with purpose and intention.

Why Fitness is Important
  • Increases productivity
  • Boosts immune system
  • Works magic on metabolism
  • Improves brain function
  • Helps process chemicals that may be contributing to anxiety/depression

Balance = Movement AND Rest
Regardless of your current situation in life, you CAN still MOVE YOUR BODY.

Let's talk about a few different fitness personas...

Emily

  • Struggles with fitness and movement
  • Disability, injury. Arthtritis. Chronic illness
  • Could try: Short, brisk walk. Swim. Closed circuit bike ride.

Annie

  • Limited by time and budget
  • Very busy - working, kids, life demands
  • Budget restrictions - cant afford to go to the gyms
  • Question to ask: Could it be worth it to spend money for a fitness app instead of dinner out with friends?
  • The time for body movement HAS to be a priority

Catherine

  • Already athletic, has run a few 5Ks, in tune with her fitness
  • Struggle: too easy to just "show up" and go through the motions
  • Suggestions: See how you can challenge yourself, get outside of your comfort zone. Increase pace, increase endurance
